SpinMedia Names Michael Wann as Chief Revenue Officer


SpinMedia, the world’s largest collective of pop culture and music digital brands, has announced Mike Wann as the new Chief Revenue Officer to oversee Corporate Development, Advertising Operations, Advertising Technology, Yield Management, and Integrated Marketing Solutions. Doug Rohrer will support Wann’s efforts in a new role as Chief Sales Officer, overseeing the ongoing success of SpinMedia’s sales teams.


For more than a decade, Wann has forged a proven track record of facilitating large-scale business development initiatives, focused on reaching new market segments and successfully growing new products. Wann, who has a deep knowledge and personal passion for technology, most recently oversaw strategic partnerships and new revenue opportunities as EVP of Business Development at Demand Media. He spearheaded the development of the organization’s monetization infrastructure for all of its owned and operated properties, as well as site level monetization and product partnerships. Wann previously served business development roles for Amazon.com and MSNBC.com, overseeing content partnerships, new revenue products and distribution partnerships.

In addition to Wann’s appointment, Lane Soelberg, former CEO of WePlay, has joined SpinMedia as Senior Vice President of Marketing Solutions. As a proven expert in building brand awareness and efficiency at companies like Gateway, Moxie, and the X Prize Foundation, his transformations to the marketing infrastructure will prove invaluable as SpinMedia continues its rise to dominance in the digital entertainment and pop culture space.


In further operational moves, Ross Cimino has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Sales Operations. Cimino, who joined SpinMedia in 2012, was previously with Evolve Media where he directed performance sales and UK operations for their multiple divisions.  Based in London, he expanded his industry knowledge of the international markets while strengthening the operations of their UK-based office. Cimino also had terms in Business Development and Corporate Marketing at Gorilla Nation and Vendare Media.
